| ‘Work in progress’, as all writers know, is an elastic phrase, embracing a range of true meaning from ‘final draft completed’ to ‘merest gleam in the eye for the next decade if I live that long’. But a new version of Gide's La Symphonie Pastorale is in preparation, to be published later in 2011 or early 2012. |
